Keyboy - Viva Blue

The second in the series of paperecordings re-releases is Viva Blue by the Norwegian threesome KeyBoy and a release that fits perfectly in to today’s cosmic sound. KeyBoy reformed especially to re-work Viva Blue. They have created a fine slice of space-disco with cosmic moog synth lines, a popping bass and breaking disco beats.

The re-mastered De-Pressed Mix by Martin Venetjoki is house music at its best that soon became a favourite in the back catalogue. It’s got Latin guitars, tough 4/4 beats, plenty of percussion, some filter disco action, trumpet and a deep rolling bassline.

On other remix duties, Claremont 56’s Mudd has applied some Balearic magic to his remix with live bass, vocal snatches and guitars resulting in a blissed out version perfect balmy days or rainy nights.

Paper artist Kahuun takes things looser and deeper, creating a nu-disco groove that goes off in all directions musically and in the arrangement but is locked down with some serious swing.

Finally, Bergen producer Ralph Myerz takes a breather from working on the new Felix da Housecat single and remixing the likes of the Scissor Sisters, Bent and Pepe Deluxe to turn in a mix of deep jazzy energy that whips along to fit any floor at any time.
